The Band has represented the people of Stowmarket, at home and abroad, magnificently since its inception, I am sure this will continue. It is a great honour to be able to conduct the band, and to be given the opportunity to give back what it provided to myself and so many others.
Many past players have pursued music, either professionally, or as a hobby. Those that have chosen to take a different profession have all benefited in some way or another, learning such skills as dedication, discipline, teamwork, and other people skills necessary in life. All will also have great memories of their time in the band.
The band is currently enbarking on recruitment to its beginners section and our aim is to provide our community with the same opportunities I and many former members had. Our aim is to provide an environment where young and old can learn and enjoy producing music, making lifelong friendships. We have often visited other countries, and more trips are planned in the future.
If you have any children, friends, or you yourself wish to start or recommence playing, we will be glad to see you. We are able to provide some instruments and free tuition come along on Mondays at 1900hrs to Stowmarket Middle School
