Both the training band and main band are available for hire for many different types of event, so please get in contact if you are interested in booking them. You can see some of our past and upcoming concerts on this site to get an idea of what we get asked to do.
Due to the number of players involved, it is usually best to give as much notice as possible, particularly for booking in the summer months or around Christmas. Traditionally the band takes a break from performing between January and March to work on new music, but we can always consider bookings at any time of the year.
All band players are volunteers and money generated from performances is invested back into the band - currently funds are being used to supply instruments and music for the training band.
Training band
The training band organise their own showcase concerts each year as well as performing with the main band at various events. However, they are available for hire for other events and have performed a village fetes and school events. We encourage performance from the very beginning of a player's time with us and their presence can be inspirational at any event.
Main band
The Band has performed at a huge range of events over the years and can be suitable for almost any event. They are regularly called upon for programmes of light music at 'bandstand' events or garden parties and evening 'Proms' concerts with a traditional set of flag-waving favourites. In blazers and bow ties, the band is suitable for weddings, meal time entertainment and in German dress, can put on a tradtional Oktoberfest-style beer night!
The band are also able to march and can supply smaller groups where space or occasion requires. They are available for hire for both public and private events and hold public liability insurance and a Performing Rights Society license.
With an extensive library and connections to other bands in the area, the Band can usually accomodate most requests for music, be it be a specific piece or a general theme to an event that is needed.
